My name is Anne Marie Tjøtta Davies. I live in Asker, Norway, with my husband and our two grown children, who have now moved out. Our wonderful Russian Blue cats fill the house with life and love. They are our babies and the true bosses at home, happily spoiled as they curl up in our laps or beds and make us smile with their playful antics. They bring so much joy to our everyday life.

Our Journey
We first fell in love with the breed through Stella and Bobo, two beautiful Scandinavian-type Russian Blues. At that time, no one in Norway was breeding the American type, known for its paler coat, lower earset, and graceful, elegant look. We were inspired to introduce this type to Norway and to build a dedicated breeding program around it.
When we began breeding in 2020, we were fortunate to start with a dream cat from the respected Sereshka Cattery in the USA, who became the foundation of our program. Since then, we have carefully developed our lines with a focus on health, beauty, and the affectionate personality that makes Russian Blues so special.
Our Breeding Philosophy
In addition to maintaining excellent health, our breeding program emphasizes good temperament and respect for the Russian Blue standard as recognized by FIFé and CFA. We make every breeding decision thoughtfully, spending time studying pedigrees to find the best matches. For us, it’s about protecting the breed’s future while giving each of our cats the best possible life.
Showing our cats is part of that philosophy because it allows us to evaluate them against the breed standard and celebrate their qualities. Over the years, our cats have been honored with titles such as National and Scandinavian Winner, Best in Variety, and World Show nominations. You can find an overview of our show results here.
These achievements mean a great deal to us, not only as recognition in the show hall but as reassurance that our work is moving in the right direction. They reflect the qualities we value most — balance, type, and gentle nature — and they encourage us to continue breeding with care and responsibility for the future of the Russian Blue.
About the Russian Blue Type
You may sometimes hear people refer to “American,” “European,” or “Scandinavian” types of Russian Blue. Historically, breeding programs developed somewhat separately across regions, resulting in variations in look and expression.
Today, breeders who show in FIFé and CFA largely work toward the same modern international Russian Blue type, often referred to as the American type, reflecting a shared vision of a balanced, elegant, and harmonious cat.
While some variation in style still exists, as it naturally does in any breed, the modern Russian Blue type is now truly international, shaped by collaboration between dedicated breeders around the world.
The Story Behind Our Name
Our cattery name, Furbonacci, is a small tribute to the famous Fibonacci sequence and a nod to my family’s love of mathematics. Most of all, it reminds us to keep balance and thoughtful care at the heart of everything we do.
